Goals for the New Year

Why is it that we decide to start working on all of our goals at one time? Dieting and Potty Training do not mix. I know I don't have to do it at the same time, but it seemed like such a great idea last month. I'm hungry!

Molly - this one is for you!!!!!

This was one of our many great family parties that took place this year. Our Brooks Family Christmas Party was awesome. Great food and fun games. This is my cousin Molly who currently lives in Paris and is down for the holidays. She is holding my sweet nephew Joshua. Molly recently lectured me about four times during our party that I do not blog enough. I completely agree and I promised her that I would do better. So here is a good start. Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quick Update

Ok So I haven't updated my blog since September. Sorry I found facebook and you know how it is. So I will give you a quick update of whats been happening in our lives.

Brooklyn has a new routine she follows every night. She needs her two pink blankets, a white one, Woody (but she calls it her barbie), her cat Ruby and her baby doll. Also she needs her two white binkies. One for her mouth and the other in her hand. Wierd huh!! Do you think this will be brought up in counseling later?

Greg was crowned a princess by Brooklyn.

When Mack went hunting we had a girls weekend and ended up at Panda Express.

Brook became a concert pianist.

We bought a four wheeler that Brooklyn absolutely loves and calls her motorcycle.

And I got a new hat!!

A little homesick

I think I am feeling a little homesick for my mission today. I know its been like 6 years since I have been home, but sometimes I really miss it especially when I see pictures of some of my favorite mission buddies. I will randomly crave to put on my big wool coat and start fearlessing down the subway train. I would also love a hot dog with everything on it.

The ring of Death 2009

You would never believe it but Brooklyn swallowed this ring. I was in the kitchen making breakfast when I heard her making the wierdest sound. I ran to check on her and found her sticking her fingers down her throat. I didn't know what she was doing. I soon realized she was choking and tried to look in her mouth and couldn't see what it was. I knew she had swallowed it. I threw her upside down and pounded on her back. After a few tries with nothing happening I went into panic mode. I called the police and while they were on their way I kept her upside down and pounded on her back. Finally she threw up the ring and a lot of blood. She just layed there in my arms and stared at me. I was hysterical. A very nice police officer came followed by the paramedics. They were wonderful. They checked her out and said she was fine. I spent the rest of the day crying off and on thinking about what could have happened. This mom thing is an emotional roller coaster. Needless to say I have gone through all of Brooklyns toys and thrown anything away that I thought she could even fit in her mouth. Paranoid? Maybe, but I don't want to go through that again.

The Men in my life

Happy Father's Day(a few weeks early) to the Wonderful Men in My Life.

Mack is just cute! He doesn't talk much but I make up for that. He is just a good old red neck country boy. How we ended up together is a mystery. I feel very lucky to be married to Mack. He is so good to me and is such a great dad to our daughter. I love that he wants to be so involved with her. He is such a hard worker and I feel blessed to be able to stay at home with Brooklyn. Mack is all about the family. He has turned down many things just so he could be with his family, except for hunting season, if I had given birth during hunting season I would have had to just text him some pictures. Mack is a handyman too and if he can't fix it he will figure it out. Thanks for marrying me Mack.

My Dad is going to kill me for posting this picture. Many of you know Greg and I have to admit he is one of the greatest men I have ever known. He is so smart and wise. I call him every day and ask him the dumbest questions. Guaranteed he will know the answer too. He is so kind and giving and is the greatest example of service. Every time I talk to him he is helping someone or on his way to do so, yet he always has a few minutes to talk with you and makes you feel like you are the most important person in the world. He gives the best hugs. He also has the funniest sense of humor. He is hilarious. I think I might have the greatest dad in the world. Go Chandler Wolves!!!
