Sick Baby

My poor baby Brooklyn has been sick forever. 2 1/2 weeks ago it started with teething and into a high fever of 102. Then the throwing up and diarrhea started. It lasted for about 6 days and then she seemed like she felt great for about 3 days. The vomiting and diarrhea started all over again. We have taken her to the doctor, but they said there is nothing they can really do. Talk about frustrating. She won't eat and will only take bottles right now and I spend most of the day cleaning up laundry and changing tons of diapers and giving lots of baths.

Two days ago was a really bad day. I was changing dirty diapers all day. I had walked into the hall to Brooklyn standing there butt naked. I couldn't figured out how she took off her own diaper. Well I looked all over for it. Needless to say I completely forgot to put one back on her. Add that one to the perfect mother list.

Is this normal for a baby to be sick this long? Any suggestions?

I think you and Brooklyn were just really unlucky and got two different things back to back. My ped. told me that there is a really bad stomach virus going around. It causes the kids to throw up, have diarrhea and they lose their appetite. She said that all you can do is start your child with 1 oz of water every half hour. Once they can hold that down start giving them Gatorade. Once they are keeping that down start giving them starchy foods. She said not to give them any dairy products until they are keeping everything else down and eating more. Sorry, I just wrote a novel! But I hope it helps :o)

Poor baby! I heard this virus is nasty! We got it, but it was just the poops and a little pukes and it didn't stay. Thank goodness! Hopefully there will be relief soon!

that stinks (literally). I have only had the true vommiting once and diarrhea for a day. If Jon can't do anything, no one can.
